I have gotten to go see Niagara Falls a few times while we lived in Rhode Island. Dana has never had the chance, and knowing what a waterfall connoisseur he is, I knew we ought to make the drive out to see it.
The Falls is made up of American Falls and Horseshoe Falls.
We were only able to go to the New York side of the gorge, but we still had some great views. Here is Horseshoe Falls from Terrapin Point.
Dana liked how all the mist in the air reminded him of Yellowstone. The flume is visible as you drive around town, so you always know where you are in relation to the falls.
Here is the Maid of the Mist boat taking passengers out to the base of the falls.

Then we took our turn on the boat. We wore our ponchos but still managed to get quite wet.
The Canadians also have a boat that travels out to the falls.
The river above the falls has a lot of rapids and is very tumultuous, and there are some cool little water falls.
We decided to stay to see the lights on the falls at night. We did not bring our passports, so we couldn’t see them from the Canada side, but the colors were still very nice.
Thanks for the show, Niagara Falls!
