We had a great day exploring New York City our second day there. On the top of our list was to see the Statue of Liberty, but the government shut-down made that a little more difficult. Luckily, we found out about the Staten Island Ferry, which is also free. So, that is what we rode. It gets pretty close to the statue, so we still had fun. Most of the other people on the boat had the same idea we had and were also going to see the statue.
Magnus was very excited to see the Statue of Liberty.
The view of Lower Manhattan was nice too.
We then took the subway up to see the Manhattan LDS Temple.
From there, Ruth, Grandma, and Magnus headed back, while Dana went to see more of the sites.
He walked about 5.5 miles and saw a lot of cools places.
Times Square and Grand Central Station:
Dana liked the LEGO store at Rockefeller Center
The Chrysler Building and Empire State Building:
The Flatiron Building and Brooklyn Bridge:
We also had a great time with Matt and his family. Magnus had a lot of fun with his cousin, Kate. Thank you for letting us stay with you in your new house.
