The first weekend in September is when Bingen, WA holds its annual Huckleberry Festival. We have never gone, but made plans to attend this year. Bingen is on the eastern half of the Gorge about an hour and a half away. It is most famous for the pies and jam that you can get.
So we made sure to get some; plus the pie came with huckleberry ice cream. They were very yummy.
We also drove up into the hills behind Bingen to get to this spectacular view:
We could see Mt. Hood and Hood River to the south and west.
And almost all the way to The Dalles to the east.
Coyote Wall:
The food was good and the view was awesome; it was a fun day.
