A Day at the Beach: Cannon Beach Edition

IMG_1427

A trip to Cannon Beach with great weather called for some fun in the sand. We went to the area where Ecola Creek enters the ocean, so we could have a nice place to play in the sand and water without the big waves. There was some nice wind to fly our kite in a s well.

From our little spot you could see Haystack Rock:

Magnus even let me bury him in sand.

On the other side of the creek (which you could wade across) was a sand sculpture competition. So, I took Magnus over to see the cool sand constructions.

Next we went into Ecola SP to see the amazing views. And we saw some elk.

We walked along Indian Head Beach to search for fun things in the tide pools.

We found some barnacles feeding and starfish:

And I caught this big crab:

The starfish were a favorite:

We watched the sunset from Ecola Point, though most of the colors we engulfed by the large cloud bank forming of the coast.
