Here is just a taste of some of the creatures I was able to see in Papua New Guinea. Everything from giant bugs to fish, from lizards to sea snakes and land snakes. And don't forget the giant spiders and fresh water eels. The mammal is a cuscus (marsupial). One of the spiders spins golden web.

The big spider on the shoe...we have a million of those here...or at least they look the same. People call them banana spiders (not sure if that's the real name) and they always seem to be right next to my head when I'm walking by trees. Aaah!!
Ruth! You married a bug man. I warned you, never forget that I warned you well in advance of the wedding. I hope you're both doing well. I think/talk about you guys all the time. You guys usually come up as my really cool married couple friends, who are crazy in love with each other, who give marriage a good name.
Ruth, we'll talk or I'll at least send you a bonafide email soon.
Love, Em
