We got to spend part of a day with the Oregon Keelers. Will called us and we met each other halfway in Maryhill, WA at Stonehenge. The best part of the trip was seeing the cousins have so much fun together. Here’s their blog post about our adventures.
We did a short hike on a portion of the actual Oregon Trail to Biggs Arch.
This is the point of the trail that travelers could choose to continue overland or take a raft down the river. The Oregon Trail Association puts these white signs to mark remnants of the original trail. You can see wagon ruts in the second photo.
We then went to the Maryhill Museum and had a picnic. The kids played together on some of the art displayed on the grounds. It was good to spend some time with Will and his family.
On the way back we made a quick stop at Eightmile Falls.
