We recently had the chance to spend two days on the wonderful Oregon Coast. We started our fun at Neskowin. We had never been here before and I had read about an interesting thing you can see there. The most notable thing on the beach is Proposal Rock. I always like to see the neat rocks that are often on Oregon beaches. This one even had a little arch in it.
You can also find these mysterious things sticking out of the water and sand. This is the Ghost Forest: remnants of a forest that sank due to a large earthquake 2000 years ago. Over time they have reemerged and are visible again. It is strange to see these old stumps that are now covered in sea creatures.
Here is a starfish and friends on one of the trees:
We had fun exploring the beach:
Can you tell whose footprints are whose?*
We also had fun playing in the sand.
Latter, Ivan and Terry met up with us.
After Neskowin, we headed south to Newport, where we were staying the night.
The cliff behind where we stayed had a nice view of Yaquina Head and the lighthouse there.
